PHF E-News brings you the latest ideas and tools for quality improvement and workforce development in public health.
In these tough economic times, states are encouraged to Ride Out the Recession on TRAIN! In 2009, Kentucky saved over $11.4 million by using TRAIN to educate and manage its public health workforce. TRAIN is currently being offered to states and affiliates for only $25,000. This cost covers the initial year, customization of the portal, two days of small group on-site training, and allows for an unlimited number of users, courses, and providers of training. The “sale” price has been extended through March 8, 2010 and after that time will return to the regular price of $55,000. Take advantage of the TRAIN Sale today and join the world's greatest learning management system!
Suspected methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) skin infections cause 12 million doctor visits each year. It is important for public health and healthcare workers, parents, educators, and others to know the steps needed to prevent the spread of MRSA. PHF's Learning Resource Center offers a variety of MRSA focused products, including the new MRSA: Skin Infection Signs and Symptoms Patient Brochure. Use the brochure and related materials to educate patients about steps to take to prevent MRSA and the warning signs and symptoms of the infection.
With the rising interest in quality improvement and public health accreditation on the horizon, there has never been a better time to use the National Public Health Performance Standards Program (NPHPSP) assessments! Join us in Dallas, Texas and find out why the NPHPSP is the nation's leading program to strengthen public health systems. The NPHPSP 8th Annual Training Workshop will be held in Dallas, Texas on April 13-14, 2010. The training workshop will be followed by a Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) Training on April 15-16, 2010.
