Although the United States spends more on health care than any other country, we fall short of being the healthiest nation. There is great potential for the health of the nation to improve through a stronger national public health system. This year's National Public Health Week's theme is "Building the Foundation for a Healthy America." National Public Health Week is coordinated by the American Public Health Association and will fall on April 6-12, 2009.
