Before the free offer ends April 29, we wanted to give you a chance to obtain these 2001-2003 videos and CD-ROMs produced by the CDC. Archived webcasts of the CDC programs remain available.
Since 2001, PHF has distributed nearly 250,000 free preparedness videos and CD-ROMs through this CDC-sponsored offer, reaching millions of professionals in hospitals, health departments, tribal agencies, universities, military health centers, and other health settings.

Legal preparedness for public health emergencies will be featured in five sessions at CDC's annual public health law conference, including "Public Health Emergency Law," "Quarantine Laws and Public Health Realities," "Community and Interjurisdictional Legal Preparedness," "Judicial Preparedness for Public Health Emergencies," and "Post-SARS Public Health Law Developments in Canada," along with 20 additional concurrent sessions and keynote addresses.
This video program outlines the legal concerns surrounding a terrorist event. Lawrence Gostin discusses the basics of emergency public health law and the legal aspects and questions related to the states’ authority to carry out and enforce issues such as investigation of contacts, isolation, and quarantine. The program discusses how the converging threats of biological weapons and emerging infectious diseases place public health systems under pressure to balance the public's health and individual liberties.
