1. New Performance Management Section on the Public Health Infrastructure Resource Center (PHIRC) PHF recently added a new performance management section and advanced search features to our PHIRC website! Now, you can find performance management case examples, tools, resources, and other information that will help your organization work more effectively and achieve measurable results. Use our new Advanced Search features to search our online database of infrastructure resources by type of resource (such as presentations or tools), or limit your search to the topic of performance management only. PHF, in partnership with Turning Point’s Performance Management National Excellence Collaborative (PMC), created this new section on PHIRC so that users can search for shared performance management tools and resources by the four areas in the PMC model: Performance Standards, Performance Measures, Reporting of Progress, and Quality Improvement Process. Also available: Performance Management Case Examples and Learning Reports

NACCHO Launches Fourth National Profile of Local Public Health Agencies Survey On June 16th the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) in partnership with PHF launched the fourth National Profile of Local Public Health Agencies survey. <Retired link> [For more current information, visit www.naccho.org]. The survey will capture vital data about the status and activities of local public health agencies (LPHAs) throughout the United States. The types of information collected include populations served, activities and services provided, community health assessment and improvement activities, and characteristics of top agency executives. The information is important for those seeking new public health infrastructure information and is used for a variety of purposes, including to: influence public health policy, educate the future public health workforce about local public health agencies, provide benchmarks for states or individual LPHAs to make comparisons, and provide researchers with valuable data to better understand the relationships between LPHA performance and community health. NACCHO will develop a report on the major findings of the Profile as well as topic-specific briefs in early 2006. If you are a local health official or work with local officials, please make sure your LPHA responds. The NACCHO Profile provides a rare opportunity to describe the current state of local public health infrastructure in our nation. **************************************************************** This message is a service of the We encourage you to share information from this E-News with others.
