Subject: Input - Public Health Practice Research

How can we improve the practice of public health and achieve healthier communities?  You can help shape the nation's research agenda and build the science base to answer these questions. There are two immediate opportunities:

1. Participate in the session at the APHA annual meeting (11/8/99, 2:15 pm), "Developing a National Public Health Practice Research Agenda" (session 1084), and contribute your ideas to the research agenda.

2. View and comment on a proposed framework for establishing the research agenda at: http://www.phf.org/Link/April99Concept.htm

The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (http://www.phf.org/Link.htm) endorses the framework and is leading a national dialogue on its refinement and uses.
