The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) convened for a virtual meeting on Monday, July 17, 2017. This meeting provided updates on activities related to the Academic Health Department Learning Community and the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals. In addition, Trust for America’s Health joined the Council on Linkages to discuss the value of public health and support for the public health workforce, the American College of Preventive Medicine shared work on a consensus statement focused on preventive medicine physician licensure, and the Association of Public Health Laboratories and Quad Council Coalition of Public Health Nursing Organizations spoke about competency development and implementation efforts.
