The Genie is Out of the Bottle:
From "little qi" to "Big QI" in Chester County

In Chester County, PA, the health department began its quality improvement (QI) journey in much the same way as other health departments: while preparing for voluntary public health accreditation, the health department chose to build staff capacity to conduct QI projects. During an on-site training led by the Public Health Foundation (PHF), the health department staff kicked off six project teams and established a QI culture within the organization. Follow the journey in Chester County's case story, The Genie is Out of the Bottle: From "little qi" to "Big QI."

Special Supplement to the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice Highlights the Impact of Public Health Accreditation

With nearly 70% of the U.S. population now served by a public health agency accredited through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), it is crucial to highlight and discuss the progress made through this program and how it has led to the increased quality and performance of public health practice. The impact of accreditation is captured in a special supplement to the current issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, which includes contributions from members of PHF staff and Board of Directors, as well as several references to tools and resources developed by the Foundation.
