Get Ready to Celebrate Community Health Improvement Week
Community Health Improvement Week is June 3-9, 2018. The goal of this week is to raise awareness, demonstrate impact, and celebrate the individuals and organizations that work to advance the health and well-being of their communities. Get involved by taking one of the more than 150 community health trainings available through the TRAIN Learning Network.

  • Solving Population Health Problems through Collaboration provides insights from more than 50 experts to help navigate partnerships between public health departments, hospitals, and their community partners to improve health. This book offers step-by-step collaboration advice for leadership and staff during this time of rapid change in healthcare and public health.

  • The Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) is a collection of evidence-based findings of the Community Preventive Services Task Force. The Community Guide is a resource to help you select interventions to improve health and prevent disease in your state, community, community organization, business, healthcare organization, or school.

Upcoming Webinar: Taking Action on Community Health Improvement Priorities
Join PHF and the Catholic Health Association on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 1-2pm EDT for an interactive webinar focused on taking action to improve community health. This presentation will feature two communities participating in the Using The Community Guide for Community Health Improvement pilot initiative and offer success stories, lessons learned, and unique perspectives from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center  in Baton Rouge, LA and  Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center  in Portsmouth, VA. These hospitals are working with public health and other community stakeholders, exploring evidence-based strategies, and taking specific actions to address HIV/AIDS and obesity to improve the health of their communities.
