With a contribution from the National Library of Medicine, the Public Health Foundation (PHF) developed a Quality Improvement (QI) Quick Guide for public health practitioners, which was launched online in August 2010. The QI Quick Guide addresses a need identified by public health practitioners for assistance in determining which resources to use as they pursue QI initiatives. The QI Quick Guide consists of a web-based QI User Guide and a Tutorial, which provide a gateway to hundreds of resources linked from PHF’s Online Resource Centers — the Public Health Improvement Resource Center and the National Public Health Performance Standards Program Online Resource Center.
Getting Started Tips:
-
It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete the QI User Guide and 20-30 minutes to complete the Tutorial.
-
You may begin at either site to gain access to hundreds of QI resources geared towards improving public health practice.
-
Beginner and advanced QI resources will appear throughout the QI Quick Guide and are organized by topics. For example, resources that support the Plan phase of the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle are found in Related Resources beneath Slide 5 of the Tutorial.
-
Clicking on the resource title will take you directly to the resource. You can also find additional related resources in the Public Health Improvement Resource Center.
