Overview

South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control staff implemented a quality improvement (QI) project to decrease wait-times in Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) clinics. This resulted in more available appointments and improved staff morale. The successes experienced in this project have led staff members to make QI the way they do business; QI has transcended this STD project and it is now being applied to all programs so that other services can be delivered more efficiently and effectively.

Watch the video below to learn more about how the culture of QI has spread through the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. To learn more about the STD project, view the video about QI Efficiency.

This program was funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of STD Prevention
