NACCHO and PHF Present: Catching Up on the Core Competencies (Archived Webinar)

Overview

This archived webinar presented by the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the Public Health Foundation (PHF) focuses on the revised Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) released by the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice in June 2014. Originally presented in December 2014, this webinar provides an overview of the 2014 version of the Core Competencies, changes made in this version and how these changes address feedback from the public health community, and tools available to support use of the Core Competencies. In addition, two public health professionals from local health departments, Beth Ransopher, RS, MEP, of Columbus Public Health (OH), and Jim Jansen, MPH, of the City of Bloomington Public Health Division (MN), discuss their use of the Core Competencies and share pointers for applying the Core Competencies within local public health. Discussion that occurred among participants during the live version of the webinar is captured. Watch the archived presentation or download the presentation slides to learn more.

This webinar is also available on TRAIN as Course 1055597 for those interested in keeping a record of completion in their TRAIN transcripts.
