In recent years, numerous calls have been issued for a renewed focus on the importance of the public health workforce to achieving population health and ensuring the workforce has the skills needed to be successful in the world of
Public Health 3.0. During this interactive session, you will learn about the National Workforce Development Strategy being implemented by the
Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) and actions being taken by the Council on Linkages and its members, and have an opportunity to participate in the continued refinement and implementation of this action strategy to meet current and evolving needs of the workforce.
The Council on Linkages, which brings together
23 influential national public health organizations, has been taking action on workforce development for more than 25 years. Coordinating efforts among national organizations to better support the workforce, the Council on Linkages regularly releases
strategic directions to highlight priorities for workforce development and guide action. Hear from Council on Linkages member organizations about successes that have been achieved through coordinated action and share your perspectives on what is needed for the future to align efforts and ensure we are moving together down the path to improved population health.
