Webinar: Introducing the 2021 Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals
Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 1-2pm EST
 
Interested in learning more about the newly revised Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies)? Join the Public Health Foundation and Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice on December 7, 2021 from 1-2pm EST for a webinar introducing the 2021 Core Competencies. Come discuss how the Core Competencies are being used by public health organizations, changes in the 2021 version and how these changes address feedback from the public health community, and resources and tools that can facilitate use of the Core Competencies. Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals Featured at 2021 Public Health Learning Forum
 
Didn’t have a chance to catch all of the 2021 Public Health Learning Forum hosted by the Public Health Foundation’s (PHF’s) TRAIN Learning Network in October? Forum sessions highlighting the latest in public health workforce development are now available through TRAIN, including Guiding Workforce Development: The Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals, which explored revisions to and applications of the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals. Additional sessions focused on the present and future of public health workforce development; how equity, diversity, and inclusion are addressed in workforce development; the rapid transition of in-person to virtual trainings; and more. ASTHO Names New Council on Linkages Representative
 
The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) welcomes John Wiesman, DrPH, MPH, to represent the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). Dr. Wiesman serves as a Professor and Director of the Executive Doctoral Program in Health Leadership at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health and was previously Secretary of Health for Washington State. ASTHO is one of 24 national organizations participating on the Council on Linkages to help strengthen collaboration between the public health practice, academic, and healthcare communities and ensure a competent public health workforce.
