The Public Health Foundation (PHF) advocates for the appropriate use and prescribing of antibiotics in the following ways:
Cold or Flu. Antibiotics Don't Work For You. Brochure
Use the Cold or Flu. Antibiotics Don't Work For You. Brochure to help your patients understand the difference between bacteria and viruses and how bacteria become resistant to antibiotics. The brochure also answers some common questions about when it is and is not appropriate to use an antibiotic.
Warning Healthy Adult Poster

Display the Warning Healthy Adult Poster in your office, clinic, or pharmacy to promote adherence to appropriate antibiotic use. The poster explains that antibiotics are not the best way to treat a cold or the flu.

Get Smart Prescription Pad
The Get Smart Prescription Pad is a convenient checklist for physicians to describe symptomatic relief for a diagnosed viral illness.

By using the pad, providers will diagnose patients with the right information and won't prescribe antibiotics inappropriately.
