Advancing the public health workforce to achieve organizational excellence
Performance Management Toolkit

Overview

Performance management is a systematic process that helps an organization achieve its mission and strategic goals. The Public Health Foundation (PHF) produces and provides resources and tools, including case stories, white papers, and customized technical assistance, that can help individuals and organizations move from learning to application.

The Performance Management Toolkit was developed in response to needs identified during the Turning Point Performance Management Refresh with the purpose of helping people understand performance management and how to develop successful performance management systems. Whether you are just getting started with performance management or you are looking for ways to continuously improve your existing performance management system, the Performance Management Toolkit offers resources to meet your needs.

The Performance Management Toolkit is designed to respond to an organization's needs regardless of where that specific organization is on the road to effective performance management. The toolkit contains two main sections:

  • Approaches to Performance Management -- provides information and resources to develop and continuously improve your performance management system.
  • Performance Management System Framework Components and Resources -- explores the components of the Public Health Performance Management System framework, which depict some of the practices by which performance management can be achieved.
