The 2011 TRAIN Affiliate Consortium (TAC) Annual Meeting which was held on April 26th, 2011 to April 28th, 2011 in St. Paul, Minnesota was a huge success! Attended by 36 participants from 19 TRAIN affiliate sites, PHF and KMi (the TRAIN technology vendor), this meeting provided training, resource sharing and networking. This year’s meeting focused on the leadership skill of networking in order to acquire new partnerships.
TAC members conducted presentations highlighting several TRAIN features, accomplishments, and initiatives. Presentations covered topics which included Team Networking, Affiliate Mentoring, Calculating TRAIN Return on Investments, Accessibility, 508 Compliance and more. In addition, training sessions for new administrators and long-time administrators were conducted at both the basic and advanced level. This hands-on training aimed at increasing the knowledge and skills of administrators was effective in supporting and maintaining competent leaders within the TRAIN community.
Since its inception in 2003, TRAIN continues to grow in size and functionality. The TRAIN Community is currently comprised of 25 affiliates which include 22 states and 3 national organizations (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine and the Medical Reserve Corps). Affiliate states and national organizations that are a part of the TRAIN Community are able to develop and assign training plans, track learning, and generate reports. In addition, there are over 430,000 registered learners and more than 3,750 course providers who have posted over 20,000 trainings/courses.
