Have you gotten your 2010 flu shot? If not, you might want to take this opportunity to do so during National Influenza Vaccination Week, December 5-11, 2010. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has set aside this week to highlight the importance of continuing influenza vaccination.

PHF is doing its part by promoting the use of the 12th Edition of Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases as well as the latest edition of the Child & Adolescent and Adult Immunization scedules from the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC). In addition, from now until Sunday, December 12th, you can take 40% off select Hand Hygiene and Get Smart learning resources at the online store by using code HAND40. Click here for a complete list of the sale items.

Please take time this week and throughout the flu season to spread the importance of immunization to avoid the flu. Assitant Secretary for Health, Howard K. Koh, M.D., M.P.H. says it best; "The bottom line is, anyone—even healthy people—can get sick from the flu, lead the way to better health for all by getting your flu shot."
